Set up Apple Mail on Mac

Follow these steps to add a Lizard Hill mailbox to Apple Mail on a Mac.

Before you begin

Have your full email address, mailbox password, and assigned Lizard Hill server name ready. Your welcome message identifies the server.

Add the account

  1. Open Mail and choose Mail > Add Account.
  2. Choose Other Mail Account, then enter your name, full email address, and mailbox password.
  3. If Mail cannot discover the settings, choose IMAP.
  4. Enter your assigned server as both the incoming and outgoing server.
  5. Use your full email address as the username for both servers.
  6. Finish adding the account, then open the account’s server settings.

Verify the server settings

  • Incoming IMAP: assigned server, port 993, SSL/TLS enabled.
  • Outgoing SMTP: assigned server, port 587, TLS or STARTTLS enabled.
  • Authentication: full email address and mailbox password for both servers.

Apple periodically changes menu names. If the wording differs, open Mail settings, select the account, and locate its incoming and outgoing server settings.
