Use Installatron for installation, updates, and a safer maintenance routine.
- Sign in to the DirectAdmin server assigned to your account and open Installatron Applications Installer.
- Choose WordPress, then the correct domain and path. Leave the directory empty for a site at the domain root; choose a directory only if you want WordPress in a subfolder.
- Use a strong, unique WordPress administrator password. Do not reuse your billing or hosting password.
- Review Installatron’s automatic-update options for WordPress core, supported plugins, and themes. Select the options appropriate for your application. Availability depends on the app and plugin/theme support.
- Review application backup settings and available storage. Updates can break custom code; keep a usable backup and test important functions after changes.
- After DNS and SSL are working, confirm that the WordPress site URL uses HTTPS. Check forms, checkout if applicable, and any mixed-content warnings.
What automation does—and does not—cover
Installatron helps with supported installation and updates. It does not write your content, renew paid plugin licenses, guarantee plugin compatibility, or replace a site administrator. Use supported extensions and remove ones you no longer need.
Multiple sites and staging
Each independent website needs an available website/domain slot. A cloned staging site consumes storage and may also require a domain or subdomain allowance. Personal has two databases and one subdomain; all copies share the account storage pool. Password-protect staging and disable real payments, outgoing marketing mail, and indexing.
